Rooting Reflex

Although this isn't the definition of the rooting reflex, weeding is the first thing I think of when the rooting reflex is mentioned. So although these two things are completely unrelated, in my mind, they are linked for some reason and it helps me with the definition because when i hear or think of weeding, i think of looking for something, like a baby's rooting reflex is looking for a food source.

Rooting reflex: a baby's tendency, when touched on the cheek, to open the mouth and search for the nipple.

Mutations

I've always wondered how hard it must be to live with a mutation, something like the one in the picture. It must take so much strength to withstand other people's taunting and harassing. I'm not sure I could do it.

Mutations: random errors in gene replication that lead to a change in the sequence of nucleotides; the source of all genetic diversity.

Parasympathetic Nervous System

This picture really makes me think of the parasympathetic nervous system because this guy obviously very relaxed and that’s what your parasympathetic nervous system does for your body. I know it's not necessarily this kind of relaxed, but that's what it makes me think of.

Parasympathetic nervous system: the part of the autonomic nervous system originating in the brain stem and the lower part of the spinal cord that, in general, inhibits or opposes the physiological effects of the sympathetic nervous system, as in tending to stimulate digestive secretions, slow the heart, constrict the pupils, and dilate blood vessels.
